Media Statement

Skills Certified Australia has responded to media enquiries about its role in helping people who have been affected by the recent collapse of one of its competitors, Get Qualified.

In recent weeks, Skills Certified reached out to help some of those people who were not able to obtain their skills certification as a result of this collapse. It did this because it understands how frustrating it is for people to have to start the process over again, particularly when they have spent money for a service they did not receive.

Skills Certified is an independent business that has no relationship with Get Qualified. Skills Certified was founded in February 2016 and was a direct competitor to Get Qualified for 12 months.

When Get Qualified went into liquidation, their customer database was listed as one of the assets for sale. Earlier this month, Skills Certified purchased that database as part of the liquidation process, partly to help people, and partly because it was a good business opportunity.

Two weeks ago, Skills Certified began contacting customers from that database to offer them assistance with a new skills certification process. While the company cannot recognise any previous commercial arrangement customers might have had with its competitor, it can help people obtain the qualification they were seeking to achieve.

Skills Certified is proactively contacting people to ask if they want help, offering discounts where possible. This is the right thing to do for people who have been punished through no fault of their own. A direct customer hotline has also been set up specifically for affected customers.

Skills Certified is a leading provider of Recognition of Prior Learning in Australia. It prides itself on bespoke service to customers and ensuring their needs are met every step of the way.
