      To obtain a carpentry contractor’s licence in certain states in Australia, you’re required to be formally qualified. Formal qualifications are important for ensuring your skills and experience are recognised and are highly recommended for career progression.

      Once you’ve achieved your Certificate III in Carpentry – CPC30220, you’re required to submit your application to the licensing body in your state.

      A majority of carpenters with this qualification are employed as technicians and trades workers, with a smaller percentage employed as labourers or managers. If you apply for a carpentry licence after achieving this qualification, you’ll also have the opportunity to start your own carpentry business.

      There are 4 steps involved in RPL. After taking our free skills assessment and chatting with the team about your goals, you’ll be required to build a portfolio of evidence that showcases your skills and experience. Once completed, you’ll submit this to one of our partner RTOs for assessment.
