This diploma reflects the skills and experience of an individual working as a beauty therapist, providing a variety of beauty services and therapies, including but not limited to facials, hair removal, brow and lash treatments, makeup and nails, and body massage. You are adept at consulting with clients to provide beauty advice and recommendations for beauty services and treatments, and selling retail cosmetics and skin care products. You are accountable for your own individual output, and the work involves a self-directed application or skills and knowledge. You must be able to use your own judgment in terms of identifying and applying the appropriate services, equipment and techniques in the workplace, which is generally a spa or salon.
