The Certificate IV in Fitness qualification is aimed at specialist personal trainers and provide them with an outcome that allows them to train individuals and groups of all ages and to improvde health-related fitness components in low risk situations. Trainers posess a substantial depth of knowledge that enables them to plan, carry out and evaluate fitness training and to provide guidance and leadership to staff and clients. They have the knowledge to handle unpredictable situations and follow defined procedures and guidelines from the organisation or fitness industry. Fitness trainers work independently or with minimal guidance. They apply discretion to non-routine problems, which includes managine and monitoring business activities and activities and to operate profitably and efficiently.This qualification does not provide the knowledge and skills required to instruct or advise high-risk clients outside of referring them to the appropriate medical health professional. It does provide a pathway to work in a diverse range of fitness industry businesses, such as gyms, fitness centres, swimming pools, open spaces and community facilities where risk management does not exist.
